King Diamond are a Danish heavy metal band formed in 1985 by vocalist King Diamond, guitarists Andy LaRocque and Michael Denner, bassist Timi Hansen and drummer Mikkey Dee. Diamond, Denner and Hansen had recently departed the group Mercyful Fate, and decided to form a new band under the King Diamond moniker, as it was already known from the Mercyful Fate days. In 1986, King Diamond released their debut album Fatal Portrait

King Diamond is the band that King Diamond (Kim Petersen) formed after he left Mercyful Fate. Like Mercyful Fate King Diamond's self titled band was one of the biggest successful band in the realm of Heavy Metal/Black Metal and was highly influential. In total, till now they have 11 Studio albums and 2 EPs. The Top Ten. 1 Abigail. Not only the songs are one better than the other, the quality of the recording is also outstanding, even more when you think it was recorded in 1987! In my opinion, that was the apex in terms of composition. I'm not a metal head by any means but this is one of the best albums ever created in any genre of music

King’s first album for the Stax label combines his hard, unflashy guitar playing with the sleek sound of the label’s house band, Booker T. and the MG’s. Hits such as Crosscut Saw and Laundromat Blues earned King a new rock & roll audience. By their fifth album, Kiss were the most popular band in America, with sold-out stadium tours and eventually their own pinball machine, makeup line and a TV movie. Built around the proto power ballad Beth, this is a ridiculously over-the-top party-rock album that just gets better with age. Listen here. The best Wu-Tang solo joint is a study in understated cool and densely woven verses. Over RZA’s hypnotically stark beats, Raekwon crafts breathtaking drug-rap narratives; it’s a rap album that rivals the mob movies hip-hop celebrates.

A Beautiful Disaster.

2013 г. "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" is a nine-part Pink Floyd composition written by Roger Waters, Richard Wright and David Gilmour. It is a tribute to former band member Syd Barrett. The song was first performed on their 1974 French tour, and recorded for their 1975 concept album Wish You Were Here. Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky. Shine on you crazy diamond. You were caught in the cross fire of childhood and stardom. Blown on the steel breeze.

The first country album to sell a million copies featured many previously released songs by Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Tompall Glaser and Jennings' wife Jessi Colter. One of five original covers, the image that stuck was a Civil Rights-era photo of two black teenagers running from police in riot gear in Bedford-Stuyvesant - a powerful image of the inequality the group was trying to address through their music. One of the most recognizable album covers of all time features an underwater naked baby reaching for a dollar bill on a string. It's a sad statement about the values our society passes on to our youth - and oh, btw, that baby is a twenty-something man now. 046.
