Concerts for the People of Kampuchea was a series of concerts featuring Queen, The Clash, The Pretenders, The Who, Elvis Costello, Wings, and many more artists which took place at the Hammersmith Odeon in London during December 1979 to raise money for the victims of war-torn Cambodia. The event was organized by Paul McCartney and Kurt Waldheim, and it involved older artists such as McCartney and The Who as well as younger, new wave acts like The Clash and the Pretenders. In March of 1981, Atlantic Records released a double live album culled from the concerts which featured most of the performances seen in the film with a few variations. For instance, there are more McCartney songs in the movie than on the album, and one extra Who song on the album ("Baba O'Riley") not seen in the original film.
Concerts for the People of Kampuchea. A live album recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon, London in December 1979 to benefit Cambodian refugees, the album includes three songs performed by Wings ("Got to Get You into My Life", "Every Night", "Coming Up") and three songs performed by supergroup Rockestra ("Lucille", "Let It Be", "Rockestra Theme"). The song "Maisie" is performed by Wings. The soundtrack to the 2003 re-make of the film, The In-Laws includes three songs performed by Wings: previously unreleased "A Love for You", an alternate version of "Live and Let Die", and "I'm Carrying" from London Town album.
