This guitar actually didn’t belong to Jimmy but was borrowed from his friend Jim Sullivan, because Jimmy needed an acoustic guitar to record Led Zeppelin’s first album. He used it to record all of the acoustic songs on that album, including Babe I’m Gonna Leave You, Black Mountain Side, and Your Time is Gonna Come. I could play so easily on it, get a really thick sound; it had heavy gauge strings on it, but it just didn’t seem to feel like it. – original source needed. This J-200 was produced in 1963 and had a spruce top, with figured maple used for the back and sides. The neck was made out of five laminated pieces of maple, and the fret-board was ebony with crest inlays.

Jerome Richardson (December 25, 1920 – June 23, 2000) was an American jazz musician, tenor saxophonist, and flute player, who also played soprano sax, alto sax, baritone sax, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto flute and piccolo. He played with Charles Mingus, Lionel Hampton, Billy Eckstine the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band, Kenny Burrell, and later with Earl Hines' small band. Richardson was born in Oakland, California, and died in Englewood, New Jersey. 1958: Midnight Oil (New Jazz).
