Fritz Reiner Brahms Hungarian Dances. Had the LP of this but it got damaged. Always wanted to replace it. This sounds great, nice to have again. Brahms Hungarian Dances Dvořák Slavonic Dances - Fritz Reiner conducts the Vienna Philharmonic. Budget 24/192 DVD Audio Stereo Disc (No Jewel Box only Disc). Reiner's Vienna Brahms/Dvorak Dances. It's great to hear Budapest-born Reiner with an old world orchestra, especially the Vienna Philharmonic. These dances are full of native Hungarian verve and color enhanced by Reiner's unerring sense of pulse and structure. The HDTT remastering is by far the best this recording has enjoyed, with considerably greater clarity and presence and a more detailed sound stage than the Decca Living Legends transfer. A treat for all lovers of these spicy lollipops.

The Hungarian Dances (German: Ungarische Tänze) (Hungarian: Magyar táncok) by Johannes Brahms (WoO 1), are a set of 21 lively dance tunes based mostly on Hungarian themes, completed in 1869. They vary from about a minute to five minutes in length. They are among Brahms's most popular works and were the most profitable for him. Each dance has been arranged for a wide variety of instruments and ensembles.

Brahms: Hungarian Dances, Dvorák: Slavonic Dances - Plak. Brahms: Hungarian Dances, Dvorák: Slavonic Dances - Plak. Wiener Philharmoniker, Fritz Reiner. These lively compositions require a conductor whose interaction with the orchestra is vivacious and animated. Reiner always demanded utmost concentration and perfection from his ensemble. Under his baton, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra plays with enthusiasm and without restaint; no trace of a sterile concert atmosphere is found in this recording. Reiner’s penchant for effects is not irritating, but rather adds highlights which support his highly musical interpretation, indeed one even forgets this trait when listening to the brilliant music.

Hungarian Dance No. 18 in D - Orchestrated By A. Dvorák (1841-1904). Slavonic Dances, Op. 72: No. 8 in a Flat (Lento grazioso, ma non troppo, Quasi tempo di valse). 46: No. 7 in C Minor (Allegro assai). Brahms: 21 Hungarian Dances.
