Desfile ‎(Cass, Album). 음 참조: Parade, CD, Album, 925 395-2. Love him or hate him but Prince is a respectable figure in the music world for there is rarely such a genius daring to experiment with rock, funk disco and the avant-garde - the latter of which is most evident here on 'Parade'. Bizarre but fascinating sound experiment, a sonic mess as sexy as it is actually quite spooky.

Parade is Prince’s eighth studio album, the fourth and final to feature his backing band The Revolution; in addition to being the soundtrack album to the 1986 film Under the Cherry Moon. It was released on March 31st, 1986 by Paisley Park Records and Warner Bros. This album marked further diversification by Prince, with additional orchestrations and a more european feel. Contrary to the album, which received mixed reception from critics, this album was met with acclaim. On February 5th, 1986, Prince released the album’s hit lead single Kiss. Primary Artists Prince & Prince and the Revolution. Writers John L. Nelson, Lisa Coleman, Prince & 1 more. Additional Vocals Prince and the Revolution. All Instruments Prince. More Prince and the Revolution albums. Purple Rain (Deluxe Expanded Version). 1999: The New Master.

Originally conceived as a double album, Parade has the sprawling feel of a double record, even if it clocks in around 45 minutes

Parade was a Top Five album. Given how fresh it still sounds, you might imagine that it would have inspired other artists to try what Prince called his "new funk," but you'd be wrong. The direction R&B took in the wake of Parade had a lot more to do with Prince's former associates Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, whose production work for Janet Jackson, the Human League and Force . s was pointing toward New Jack Swing. Still, the slow, elegiac "Sometimes It Snows in April" stayed in Prince's live repertoire right up to his final show. And the core of the album is its dance tracks, bracingly crisp and airy, with those offhanded register-vaulting vocals and that peculiar rhythmic lurch no other artist could duplicate. With "Kiss" as its key and signpost, Parade makes the case that the secret engine of Prince's funk was what it left out.

Prince And The Revolution - AM-TV TV broadcast (08/13). Raspberry Beret - 2:33 (live). NOTE: It is possible that this version, from the 08/12 Wembley show, is the same as the Music Box broadcast below, but having lost my copy of Music Box, I can't be sure. IIRC the Music Box broadcast was added as a bonus on a bootleg DVD of the Detroit Parade concert so maybe someone can find it there for me. More info needed. Prince And The Revolution - Music Box TV broadcast (08/14). Raspberry Beret - 1:57 (live). Prince And The Revolution - NOS Journaal TV broadcast (08/17). A Love Bizarre - ?:? (live). NOTE: This was a more or less 1 minute long snippet that was aired on Dutch TV, from the circulating 18 minutes pro-shot video of the Rotterdam show that day.

Parade to me, sounds like a conceptual album, rather than actual music. Alot of the trax are French inspired, the horns and strings, the whole bit. There r no duds on here, like 99 percent of Prince's albums.
